| Description: | While the LOFAR telescope is taking shape, a lot of work already has been invested into utilizing prototype components for scientific research. As a result of this labour on January, 22nd the first LOFAR PhD thesis was completed with a public defense at the Radboud University Nijmegen. Andreas Nigl's thesis entitled "Fast Radio Flashes Observed with LOFAR Prototypes" includes investigations carried out using the LOPES array in Karlsruhe, the LORUN setup at Nijmegen and the LOFAR Initial Test Station (ITS). |
