| Description: | Behold the Heart of Gold of the X-Shooter spectrograph. But while it has the colour of this precious metal, it is probably more expensive. This evocative image was taken between two of the ZnSe cross-dispersion prisms. These have a yellow-orange colour in the visible, but are completely clear and transparent at near-infrared wavelengths. |
