X-Shooter left the building

| Description: | After more than four years of designing, manufacturing and testing, the Near-InfraRed Spectrograph of X-Shooter left the building. Last Thursday, the 10th of April, a big truck brought it to ESO in Garching, Germany where it will be joined with its two fellows, the UV- and Visual Spectrograph. In September the whole instrument will be transported to Chile, where it will be attached in the Cassegrain focus of one of the four 8-meter VLT telescopes. |
