LOFAR concentrator node building installed

| Description: | In the concentrator node of LOFAR all fibres from the core stations and remote stations in the Netherlands come together. Multiple station signals are multiplexed on a single fibre using the DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) technique. In fact multiple colors are used to transport the individual signals onto one physical fibre.
The equipment for this is installed in the concentrator node building in Exloo. This building is designed by Yde Koopman and was installed last week. |
