| Description: | You have seen the picture in this picture many times (e.g. ADJI of 26-01-2007). It is being used (and misused...) by many people (from Astron, but not only) in their presentations and it has become one of the "icons" of the WSRT. However, it was not only made just to have a pretty picture. There was, in fact, also a scientific motivation for making it. Proper astronomical papers take a while to get published, but now, finally, the picture has ended up in the official astronomical literature. It made it even to the cover of one of the main journals!!!!
A benefit from making it to the scientific literature is that now people can properly acknowledge the authors (something many regretfully failed to do in the past): Boomsma, R., Oosterloo, T.A., Fraternali, F, van der Hulst, J.M., Sancisi, R. 2008, A&A, 490, 555 !!!!!!!!!!
