RFI in Portugal?

Submitter: Jan Geralt Bij de Vaate
Description: Two ASTRON engineers, Juergen Morawietz and Paul Riemers, will travel to Portugal this week for a Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) measurement campaign. They will evaluate a number of sites, remotely located, with a promise for very good RFI conditions. Portugal is a partner in the Aperture Array Verification Program (AAVP) and will most likely host some Aperture Array demonstrators.

Obviously the photograph was shot in Westerbork, where the team performs a verification of the equipment, which also provides an update of the Westerbork RFI conditions. East Portugal also promises the highest solar illumination of Europe: another aspect that the team might be able to enjoy!
