LOFAR from an airplane

Submitter: Peter Bennema
Description: Until now, our aerial pictures of the deploying LOFAR core have been taken from a tethered balloon, floating at an altitude of one hundred meters. Recently, Hans Peeters from the local support group "LOFAR Table" took pictures from a small plane at a somewhat higher altitude. This gives a new perspective, especially of the various water features of the associated nature park. Note the delta-shaped areas for the first four stations outside the circular LOFAR core.
