| Description: | On Wednesday April 28th there were elections for a new ASTRON/JIVE works council (ondernemingsraad in Dutch). The works council discusses organisational and personnel matters with ASTRON management. For matters like organisational changes or reorganizations ASTRON management is obligated to ask the works council for an advise. ASTRON management has to ask approval from the works council for matters in the field of personnel policy and regulations.
We are happy to welcome Arno Schoenmakers as a new member. After some years of absence the radio observatory department has a member in the works council again. After 12 years Lambert Nieuwenhuis leaves the works council. Because he will retire next year he decided not to stand for a new term again.
