| Description: | Last saturday, Harry Mulish passed away at the age of 83. By many, he is lauded as one of the greatest Dutch writers ever. Perhaps his magnum opus is the "The Discovery of Heaven", a novel in which God is disappointed in man and wants to revoke his 'contract' with mankind. Interestingly, the WSRT features prominently in this story. This novel was also the basis of a major feature film, with actors such as Jeroen Krabbe and Stephen Fry, and for which several scenes were shot at the WSRT. Because of this, Harry Mulish visited ASTRON several times. This picture shows Harry Mulish in Dwingeloo, together with another famous Harry, at the festivities on the occasion of the visit of Queen Beatrix to ASTRON in 1996
