| Description: | On November the 25th, a group of pupils, aged 16-18, from the secondary school OSG Sevenwouden from Heerenveen, visited ASTRON. The visit was organized by ASTRON's new coordinator for education and diversity. This position has been made possible because of an Aspasia grant of the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO). One of the aims of the coordinator for education and diversity is to set up a more structured program for visits of high school and primary school students.
The visit of the high school students from Heerenveen, organised in cooperation with JIVE and the NOVA Optical/Infrared Group at ASTRON, included a tour around ASTRON's technical, mechanical and optical lab, and a visit to the Westerbork telescope.
