Jacki Gilmore awarded PhD for her work on Dense Dipole Arrays

| Description: | Jacki Gilmore successfully defended her PhD thesis, in the photograph next to her proud supervisor Prof. David Davidson. The work in her thesis, titled: Design of a Dual-Polarized Dense Dipole Array for the SKA Mid-Frequency Aperture Array, is part of SKA development work. Inserted in the photograph is the antenna array Jacki built during her stay at ASTRON, with the help of our excellent lab facilities, PCB and mechanical workshops. Jacki Gilmore was an exchange student between Stellenbosch University and ASTRON, funded by MIDPREP. The celebration took place earlier this year and we are moving on, currently two new students from Stellenbosch University are visiting ASTRON R&D, one of them will extend the work from Jacki. This research was supported by a Marie Curie International Research Staff Exchange Scheme Fellowship within the 7th European Community Framework Programme, project No. 612599 |
