Ghosts on the moon??

| Description: | Some time ago I was visually observing crater Tycho with my 400 mm telescope and at some point I was hindered by something that looked like a kind of reflection just in the middle of the black crater floor of Tycho. Then it came into my mind that I might actually be observing the central hill of Tycho indirectly lit by the bright crater rim! I decided to take an image of it and after some processing it was very clear that this was indeed the case. You can even see shallow hills on the crater floor on the processed image. |
