Description: | On August 3rd, we held our first of what in total will be five public lectures (in Dutch) at the Planedome, the new home of our Open Science Hub – Milky Way. Despite the announcement about the public lectures being on short notice, it was a success: about 20 people attended André Offringa’s talk, in which he took the audience on a journey from the Big Bang to the present. People were awed by his story, but they also asked him some very clever questions. He, in turn, also asked the audience some questions, which meant that we had some prizes to hand out to the winners, who went home with an ASTRON quartet game. Although the OSH itself isn’t quite finished yet, the audience had a good time, and so did we. We hope that the next public lectures will be as successful as this one. And remember to tell your friends and family about the public lectures series!
