Description: | When an object is observed with a radio aperture synthesis telescope like WSRT or LOFAR, the resulting image is contaminated with some rather messy crud, caused by the station configuration. This movie of a simulated CLAR observation shows how the crud changes with observing frequency. Also shown is a Multi Frequency Synthesis (MFS)image of all the data, made with Briggs optimal weighting. The simulations were done with MeqTrees. |
