Description: | Today at the colloquium, Chris van Diepenbeek, Herman Teinsma, and Albert Heijl from Agentschap Telecom will discuss passive spectrum use, and upcoming changes in the spectrum environment. For the active services there is a trend to use higher frequency bands, but also to extend usage to lower frequency bands (e.g. extension of 900 MHz band to include the 800 MHz band) in order to find more bandwidth related to mobile-, aeronautical- and satellite systems. The talks will also address new variants of modulation schemes such as adaptive modulation for fixed services and SC-FDMA modulation for mobile LTE applications (4G generation networks). The aim is to give an impression of how the changing spectrum environment may influence passive spectrum use such as radio astronomy. |
