Today's colloquium: Planetary Science with LOFAR and more

Description: Today's colloquium will be given by Philippe Zarka of the Observatoire de Paris / LESIA. The colloquium will describe the planetary objectives of the LOFAR-TKP-Planets working group (which include the LF imaging of Jupiter's magnetosphere, study of solar system planets lightning, and radio serch for exoplanets), emphasizing the underlying physics. The talk will also present first commissionning observations about the first two topics, as well as the radio-exoplanet search program carried out at lower frequencies at UTR-2 (Kharkov, Ukraine). Finally, Philippe will briefly describe the LOFAR super station project ongoing in Nançay.
