Astronomy students visit ASTRON with former colleague: Marijke Haverkorn

| Description: | On 2 April, a group of students visited ASTRON and three telescopes. Here is a report from the students. "We're a group of bachelor students from Radboud University Nijmegen, following the second year course Radio Astronomy. Partway during the course our teacher, Marijke Haverkorn, remarked it might be interesting to actually go and see the radio telescopes at Dwingeloo and Westerbork and we agreed. Arrangements were made and a date was decided. We followed presentations, were guided through the building and have seen the Dwingeloo Telescope, WSRT and the LOFAR core. We felt it was a very informative and interesting day, and we are very glad for having been given the opportunity of seeing these radio telescopes from up close with some explanation from the experts that work with those telescopes."
