PV rondrit Mt. VAMtoux

Submitter: Eric Kooistra
Description: On Saturday September 1st our colleagues Jan Slagter and Peter Bennema will climb the Mont Ventoux in France on their racing bikes to collect money in favor of the "Stichting Mont Ventoux" for the fight against cancer. ASTRON and JIVE support this action by providing drinking bottles (bidons) with the ASTRON or JIVE logo's. To further mark this event the Personeels Vereniging together with Jan and Peter organised a cycling tour around the Dwingelderveld and the VAM mountain on Tuesday afternoon August 14th. The VAM mountain is a landfill site of about 40 meters high that now looks like a hill. Unfortunately we were not allowed to climb it, but we could see it when we drove by it. The daily image shows the participants with from left to right: Eric, Joeri, Sjouke, Jan Geralt, Jan, Peter, Laurens and Merijn. The map shows the route that we cylced. We had a nice ride with calm and sunny weather and a drink with apple pie in Wijster. All proceeds will be donated to the Stichting Mont Ventoux (www.grootverzettegenkanker.nl).
