In line with the advice from the Dutch government, the management of ASTRON and JIVE has decided to take the following measures to minimise the risk of coronavirus infection:
- ASTRON/ JIVE / NOVA employees work from home,
- all visits to ASTRON / JIVE / NOVA are canceled,
- all trips from ASTRON / JIVE / NOVA are canceled.

The above measures apply at least up to and including Wednesday 20 May 2020.

ASTRON will strive to continue LOFAR science observing to schedule. Users should be aware that operations are running remotely, but debugging and general support will not be as timely as you would normally expect from us.

ASTRON will strive to continue Dutch station maintenance. But there will be no international station maintenance visits until further notice. Participant visits to ASTRON or Dutch partners is not possible, as per the measures mentioned above.

WSRT operations will run uninterrupted.

In lijn met het advies van de Nederlandse regering heeft de directie van ASTRON en JIVE besloten de volgende maatregelen te nemen om het risico op verspreiding van het coronavirus te minimaliseren:
- ASTRON / JIVE / NOVA-medewerkers werken vanuit huis,
- alle bezoeken aan ASTRON / JIVE / NOVA worden geannuleerd,
- alle reizen van ASTRON / JIVE / NOVA worden geannuleerd.

Bovenstaande maatregelen gelden minimaal tot en met woensdag 20 mei 2020.

ASTRON streeft ernaar de LOFAR observaties voort te zetten volgens de planning. Gebruikers moeten zich ervan bewust zijn dat de operations op afstand worden uitgevoerd, maar foutopsporing en algemene ondersteuning zullen niet zo stipt zijn als u normaal van ons zou verwachten.

ASTRON streeft ernaar het Nederlandse stationsonderhoud voort te zetten. Maar tot nader order zullen er geen internationale onderhoudsbezoeken aan stations plaatsvinden. Deelnemersbezoeken aan ASTRON of Nederlandse partners is in navolging van bovenstaande maatregelen niet mogelijk.

WSRT observaties worden ononderbroken uitgevoerd.

On June 13-17, the LOFAR Family Meeting took place in Cologne. After two years LOFAR researchers could finally meet in person again. The meeting brings together LOFAR users and researchers to share new scientific results.

Our renewed ‘Melkwegpad’ (Milky Way Path) is finished! The new signs have texts in Dutch on the one side and in English on the other side. The signs concerning planets have a small, 3D printed model of that planet in their centre.

The background drawing shows how the subband correlator calculates the array correlation matrix. In the upper left the 4 UniBoard2s we used. The two ACM plots in the picture show that the phase differences of the visibilities vary from 0 to 360 degrees.

One of the key specifications of LOFAR2.0 is measuring using the low- and the highband antenna at the same time. For this measurement we used 9 lowband antenna and 3 HBA tiles.
